Information: how to acquire and evaluate data, organize and maintain files, interpret and communicate
Systems: how to understand social, organizational and technological systems; design-improved systems
Technology: How to select equipment and tools, apply technology to specific tasks, and maintain and troubleshoot technologies.
Earl Shorris (1997), a social philosopher, argues that it is the ability to answer and know the questions that are vital to all human beings. Earl brought together smart college students to a twenty-eight-week course called “The Clemente Project” where they were taught moral philosophy, art history and American history.

Multi-user Domains (MUDs) – are virtual places in cyberspace where computer users can gather to meet and interact. Internet users who use MUDs, use these environments to meet new friends or to make a real identity.
Ecofeminism- is a reinterpretation of human history in which archaeological evidence is used to support the claim that partnership societies existed well before the dominator societies of today. Ecofeminists view the domination of women and the exploitation of nature as part of the problem. In organizations, ecofeminists view is encouraging of structures that are decentralized and open to change.
Major Issues Related to Organizational Communication
· Cultural Factors- Will the internet be used for entertainment or will it be demanded for business? How will the diverse workforce affect people’s choices about careers and where to live?
· Political Factors- How will regulation of information on the internet affect people?
· Environmental Factors- What will happen with our natural resources? What will happen to the automobile industry when an oil crisis appears?
· Technological Factors- How might a terrorist use a computer virus?
· Economic Factors- How will the educational system teach the new skills requires for success?
